The workers are very busy right now getting all the stuff done. Unfortunately there is still quite alot of todos which I know means that we wont get going today anyway, but they cant make magic at this time and are working very hard on it, so there is not much more to do about it. They are only humans.
We prepared the areas we could for being ready to go. We still need to hose down the ship and do a seatrial when we depart from the port on the way to Korinth including Panos, the entrepreneour and shiparchitect behind the rebuild. He will be picked up at Korinth after the seatrial if it goes well with none or only minor issues. So our plan will include an extra stop at Korinth.

The carpenters have been working all thru the night and all the day today until around 16:00. I took some photos of their faces and eyes... I really felt pitty about them and also told Panos to go home to have some sleep. He felt really bad about the situation, embarrassed even, and was reluctant to go home to rest, but as the carpenters certainly couldnt go on any longer (they have been working for 40h or more in a row without sleep), and as Panos was just as sleepy, tired and stressed, it would do nobody any good to keep on as thinking and abilities had quite gone at that point.
We ordered for pizza from Dominos to be delivered at the ship. As some people do prank calls ordering pizzas to some other boats, they asked for my phone number to call back to get confirmation. What happened is that they remembered that the carpenters had pizzas from them the day before, and thus called George, the foreman of the carpenters whos phonenumber they had, to get a confirmation. Anyway we got our pizzas and sodas and enjoyed a feast meal.
The wooden 'weaved' floor for the new toilet and shower room had arrived today. Its made of iroko in 3 layers and is looking quite good. The remaining bits and pieces for bookshelves and other similar minor furniture and fittings also arrived today and will be finally mounted tomorrow which we believe is the departure date.
Panos presented us some gifts that he had hoped to give as departure gifts, a bottle of the best quality Ouzu, not causing headache, an orthodox catholic icon of Sct Nicolai (the protector of the seafarers) and a small puppet donkey for Katharina, who have all the time found Panos to be her good friend.
Despite our heated discussion and the slip of the plans, Panos and I will split as friends, and I hope to see him one day again onboard the Dimitris somewhere we are. He certainly knows his handicraft and the end result of his and his teams work looks good and solid.
