- The Bill of Sale has been signed and sent to the broker, who have confirmed receiving it. The broker is now busy with the local paperwork there, like extracting the vessel from the Greek directory of ships so we can sign it into the Danish ditto. In addition the broker is responsible for arranging the handover from the seller, and take care of VAT payment etc.

- We have received the first confirmations of flight bookings from our crews.

- Financing has now been settled in the 11th hour. It was actually supposed to have been settled in winther, but our bank 'changed the rules of the game' only about a week ago. Although they still wanted to finance it, it was suddenly on somewhat other terms. So we went bank hunting to see if we could get a better deal. And  that we did. So welcome to our project Roskilde Bank.

- We have now our crewlist 99% populated. We would like to welcome Søren Hansen who have been sailing mostly in Danish waters. He have been living on a small boat for a year, and thus knows what we are facing regarding our change of lifestyle :)

- Paper charts (mostly from Imray) have been delivered to us by TNT Express after a couple of rounds of not finding our address. We ordered them in Ireland at www.toddchart.com as they seemed to be having good quality charts for a resonable price. Even though, the sheer number of charts makes it a rather expensive experience :)

- We have purchased an Ericsson R290 Satellite/mobile GSM 900 phone from China and purchased the required Sonofon subscription to be able to use it as both a satellite phone (via GlobalStar) and as a normal GSM phone. This following link (in Danish) shows the coverage of the GlobalStar satellite network: http://www.sonofon.dk/download/pdf_brochurer/globalstar_daekningskort_v01.pdf

The cost of calling to and from the phone in satellite mode is quite steep, but as an emergency phone its not a problem. We can also receive and send SMS this way. Please see more info about it on this page.

- GPRS/3G. We have purchased a 3G/GRPS data card for our laptop. The price per megabyte is dkr. 75, or approx €11/mb so its mostly to be used for 'special cases'. We also bring a Wifi / Wireless LAN card for the situations where a harbour provides this facility. Notice that is usually require buying scratchcards for an hourly rate.

- Finally our laptop has been equiped with electronic charts of the whole trip, and a GPS receiver.
