This report is written while in an internet cafe in Propriani, Corse.
We anchored over in Porto Cervo in Sardinia, but without going a shore, due to the stupid tax rules already mentioned in previous log.
Then we went thru the belt of islands towards Corse. The trip was nice with lots of beautiful places to see from the waters.
We went to Bonifacio and circled around in their harbour for a couple of hours, until we were told there wasnt any room for us to moore. A bummer as we were already ready to go get something to eat. Anyway off we go to another option, Propriani which is approx 25nm north.
As it became evening time before we arrived, we decided to anchor only 4 nm outside the harbour in a very nice anchoring place in a bay and then try our luck in the harbour the next morning (today - 20 aug.)
We had already tanked fuel in Bonifacio (approx. 410 liters of diesel for the main engines, and about 45 liters for the generator).
In Propriano we had to sort out several things that broke on the vessel, the block (a wheel that holds a rope) and our two main ropes for our Genua that broke. Nikolai went 22m up in the mast with the help of Soeren and I, and tomorrow the new rope will be tied to the Genua which will have to be refitted into place. We bought 100m of good solid 12mm core rope as a replacement of the broken rope.
A new electricity landline was also made. 50m cable bought and installed.
Propriano is actually very recommended place to be. The harbour is quite nice and protected from seas. The city is touristic, but anyway nice and reasonably priced. The piers are quite new with new electricity and water installations quite close by.
I hoped to get some pictures uploaded this time, but the connection to the Yacht project site has been quite bad, even from this internet cafe, so that has to wait... unfortunately.
We still need crewmembers starting from Gibraltar or Porto in Portugal... so if anyone are interested (preferrably with sailing experience, atleast as deckhand) dont hesitate to contact us. The contact information is here.
