Sailplan

The plan has unfortunately been delayed.
We hope for departure from Alimos marina/Athens/Greece Aug 02 at 08:00 (morning). All crew members to start out from Athens, must show up on the ship latest the day before departure (according to current estimate: Aug 01.) around 13:00 local time and assist with last minute preparations and to sign the crewpapers.
Current plan is that we reach Nakskov/Denmark Sep. 8. We may skip some harbours or the extra 'tourist' days to get back to DK earlier. The crew and captain will decide when we gather or during the trip.
The plan include some time to be able to play tourists in some selected ports. If needed we may skip some of the ports or go earlier to try to stay reasonably within schedule, but only weather and Neptune knows for sure if that is needed.
Nakskov is approx. 2.5h driving from Copenhagen. Trains also departs from Nakskov going to Copenhagen.

Current estimated schedule (June 23. 2006) (can change!)

Total distance is 3462 nautical miles or approx. 6231 km.
These times are estimates. For their calculation, an average true speed of 6 knots is used. The vessel should go around 10 sailing knots for engine or good wind. However current (of which there isnt much in the Mediterranien) and the fact that we wont go by engine unless the speed of the vessel is less than 4 sailed knots by sail, can affect the effective speed over ground. We however believe that the estimate is quite conservative, and we may (at least in the Mediterranien) go faster and save time.
